Just found out last night that Robert Asprin, author of the Myth Adventures comedy-fantasy novels and creator of Thieves World, has gone to the Great Writer's Group in the Sky. I only knew him from the Myth Adventures books, but his work was a staple in sci-fi/fantasy circles. He was a gifted author with a razor-sharp wit.As was said on my industry email list, "he will be mythed."

I need to stop ready science fiction. My writers keep dying young: first Douglas Adams, then Robert Jordan, and now Robert Lynn Asprin. It makes me sad.

Holy Crap... I hadn't heard. He was one of the few modern writers during my childhood that had an impact up on me...

Seriously - this is sad, fucked-up news. Asprin's such a wonderful light in the sci-fi world.
